I needed definitions for these words for my homework. Vocab words for the book Things Not Seen.

Perplexed -- Filled with confusion or bewilderment; puzzled.
Phenomenon -- An occurrence, circumstance, or fact that is perceptible by the senses.
Sarcastic -- A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
Disoriented -- Unable to find the correct way or place to go.
Demented -- Mentally ill; insane.
Sheepish -- Embarrassed, as by consciousness of a fault.
Throbbing -- To beat rapidly or violently, as the heart; pound.

Wiretap -- A concealed listening or recording device connected to a communications circuit.
Involuntary -- Acting or done without or against one's will
Schematic -- Of, relating to, or in the form of a scheme or diagram.
Anomalies -- Deviation or departure from the normal or common order, form, or rule.
Hearsay -- Unverified information heard or received from another; rumor.
Superficial -- Concerned with or comprehending only what is apparent or obvious; shallow.
Fugitive -- Running away or fleeing, as from the law.
Blacklisted -- A list of persons or organizations that have incurred disapproval or suspicion or are to be boycotted or otherwise penalized.
